This was my second time attending a Farm Wives Club event, but this year was a little different and especially meaningful because I attended as both an attendee and a vendor.
I brought my farm-inspired coloring books with me and had the opportunity to spend the weekend meeting women, hearing their stories, sharing my own, and connecting with people who understand the many different sides of farm life.
From the speakers and conversations to the laughter and time spent together, it was a weekend I was grateful to be part of.
One of the things I enjoy most about Farm Wives Club is hearing from women who are willing to share what they’ve learned through their own experiences.
Each speaker brought a different perspective, but there were several messages that really stayed with me throughout the weekend.
Courtenay talked about having the courage to continue showing up in your life and in your career.
She reminded us to be ourselves and to remember that we are qualified, even when our choices or our path don't make sense to everyone else.
Sometimes we spend too much time worrying about where other people think we belong. Her message was a reminder to trust ourselves, keep showing up, and continue moving toward what we want.
Chase your dreams.
Jena talked about reimagining the farm and looking for opportunities to diversify.
Her message reminded us that we don't always have to do things the same way just because that's how they've always been done. Being intentional, building a strategy, and thinking ahead can open the door to new opportunities.
One thought that really stuck with me was:
Busy doesn't always mean productive.
It's easy to fill our days with things that need to be done, but we also need to make time for the things we actually want to see grow.
Natalie talked about being flexible and being willing to pivot.
Plans change, and sometimes the path we imagined isn't the path we end up taking. And that's okay.
She encouraged us to listen to our internal voice because it often knows more than we realize. Instead of allowing fear or uncertainty to keep us from moving forward, sometimes we simply need to take the next step and trust that the clarity will come.
She also shared the importance of looking through a lens of faith instead of fear.
And Kylie encouraged us to know who we are and to connect with the right people.
She challenged us to mingle, start conversations, and get to know the women around us — not just what they do, but their stories, their farms, their businesses, and who they are as individuals.
Sometimes the best connections begin with simply taking the time to talk to someone.
One of my favorite parts of the event was an activity that showed just how much we have in common.
We answered a series of questions, folded our papers, and passed them around anonymously. As each question was read aloud, anyone holding a paper with that answer checked stood up.
What became clear was how many of us shared similar experiences.
Different farms. Different backgrounds. Different stories.
Yet so many of the same challenges, hopes, and dreams.
It was a simple but meaningful reminder that we are often much more alike than we think — and we don’t have to navigate this journey alone.
This year, I also had the opportunity to bring my coloring books to Farm Wives Club as a vendor.
It was exciting to have a table where I could display the books and talk with women about how the idea came together.
But what I enjoyed most wasn't simply selling the books.
It was the conversations.
Women stopped by my table to look through the books, ask questions, share their own stories, and give me feedback.
Some stayed for a quick conversation, while others took the time to really visit.
Every one of those interactions meant something to me.
A big thank you to every woman who stopped by my table at Farm Wives Club.
Thank you for visiting, sharing your stories, offering feedback, and supporting what I’m creating. And thank you to everyone who purchased a coloring book — I truly appreciate it!
If you took a photo with me, at the event, or with one of the coloring books, please tag me @crinspirations. I’d love to see your photos and share them!
If you weren’t able to attend or didn’t get a chance to stop by my table, you can still find the coloring books online.
Inspired by farm life, animals, harvest, and agriculture, they’re a fun way to bring a little piece of the farm home.
As I look back at the weekend, I'm reminded that events like this are about so much more than sitting in a room and listening to speakers.
They're about connection.
They're about meeting someone new, hearing a story, sharing a laugh, learning something, and realizing that you're not alone in whatever season of life you're in.
If you weren't able to attend this year, I hope you'll consider joining us next year.
