Dreams Turned Into Reality

For a long time, this idea quietly lived in the back of my mind.

A realistic farm coloring book.

Not cartoon cows.

Not imaginary red barns.

But the real thing — the kind of agriculture I grew up with. The kind I photograph. The kind I live.

And on March 10th, it becomes real.

As a farm kid, I don’t remember having a coloring book that truly reflected agriculture the way it actually looks. The details. The grit. The posture of a show pig. The way light hits a combine at dusk. The dedication behind every animal and crop.

Now, I get to offer that to kids.

Every single page began as one of my photographs.

There’s something deeply fulfilling about watching moments I captured in the field turn into 45 pages of line art ready to be colored.

For three months, I’ve been learning what really goes into creating a coloring book.

And let me tell you — it’s more than just turning a photo black and white.

There were moments of doubt. More than a few.

Moments where I questioned if I could really pull this off.

But I wasn’t raised to quit.

Growth doesn’t come from staying comfortable. It comes from learning something new, stumbling through it, and deciding to keep going anyway. I knew if I pushed through, there would be growth on the other side. And there was.

This isn’t whimsical farm art.

It’s realistic agriculture.

  • 45 pages
  • Real farm and ag photography transformed into line art

  • Designed for both kids and adults

  • A true reflection of the hard work and dedication farmers put into their animals and crops

My hope is when someone colors these pages, they feel that dedication. The early mornings. The dust. The care. The pride.

Because agriculture isn’t just an occupation — it’s a way of life.

The coloring book will be available online through my website and on Barnes & Noble.

This project ties together everything I love:

  • Preserving agriculture

  • Storytelling through imagery

  • Honoring farm life

  • Creating something meaningful for the next generation

If this book reaches a farm kid who finally sees their world reflected on paper… or someone curious about agriculture who wants to understand it better… then every moment of doubt was worth it.

March 10th feels like more than a launch.

It feels like growth.

And I’m so grateful you’re here for it.
