January Reflections: A Quiet Win Worth Celebrating

January often feels like a month of in-between.

The rush of the holidays has passed, spring feels far away, and yet there’s a steady hum of work happening behind the scenes. For me, January is where reflection and intention meet — where I look back at what grew last year and gently consider what I want to carry forward.

This year, that reflection includes a milestone I’m incredibly grateful for.

I’m honored to share that my photography was selected for three different company calendars this year:

  • Steiner Tractor Parts (May)

  • Quality Roasting (March, April, July, and October)

  • Seedlife (November)

All three were contest submissions, which makes this feel even more humbling — especially being chosen for Seedlife for the second year in a row, (you can check out last years picture here if you would like). Seeing my name and images printed in calendars that will hang in homes, shops, and barns across the country is something I don’t take lightly.

Each photo represents a moment of everyday farm life — the kind most people don’t get to witness.

A restored old tractor, still full of history and purpose.
Grain bins standing steady through the seasons.
Cows in the quiet rhythm of the day.
Soybeans stretching toward the sky.
A farmer unloading a grain truck.
A combine rolling through corn with fall color blazing in the background.

None of these moments were staged. None were captured with a calendar in mind. They were taken simply because they felt worth remembering.

My goal has always been to photograph farm life as it unfolds — honestly, quietly, and with respect. These are the scenes that make up everyday life on a farm, the ones that often go unnoticed but carry so much meaning.

I’ll be honest — sharing wins like this can feel uncomfortable. I never want to come across as bragging. But I’m learning that it’s okay to acknowledge growth, especially when it’s built on long hours, dedication, and a deep love for the work.

This milestone feels less like a loud celebration and more like a quiet nod to consistency. To showing up. To paying attention. To continuing to document farm life in a way that feels true.

Seeing these images chosen — and chosen again — reminds me that there is value in the everyday, and that people want to see and feel connected to where their food comes from and the lives behind it.

As I step into this new year, I’m carrying gratitude with me. Gratitude for the opportunity to share agriculture through my lens, for the people and companies who value these stories, and for everyone who has followed along, encouraged me, and supported my work.

If you’d like to see these images in print, you can find them in:

Thank you for being here — truly. I’m proud to share this moment with you, and excited for all the stories still waiting to be told.
